Babycat showed up on our porch about 11 years ago as a wild,Ferrel, hissing and spitting kitten. My mom would feed him and after a few months was able to touch and pet him.

Then once I was able to pet him I scooped him into a box and took him to get fixed. He then became a house cat. He was a great little buddy as well as a great mouser.

A few days ago I could see that he was "Off" for lack of better words. Then he stopped eating. Took him in and he has cancer of the spleen just like our dog had.

So we had to put him down today.

Very sorry, I know how it feels.

Very sorry about Babycat. I've been there many times myself.

Cats and their owners usually become codependent. It's hard to say which really owns the other.

Feel for you Chris...

Hate to say this but it's true.. Animals are so much like us. When they stop eating as much... Stop drinking as much as they need... Their time is growing short.

It was very hard on me having my previous cat Princess get sick and put down.

Brutal. Thank goodness my mom was there.

Take care of yourself man.

Getting another cat may well help you along the way.

Sorry about that, it isn’t easy. So much cancer in pets. Took my dog last month of 12 years. I took it real hard. Much more than I realized I would. My daughter lost a cat recently, at least it went out and never returned. A neighbor to her lost theirs too, they think it is coyotes. They have been coming more into developed areas lately. That’s a tough pill to swallow if they died like that.
