Lost my best friend today

The Rainbow Bridge is such a terrific concept. I've had to put down two English Springer Spaniels in the past 17 years. Think of ways to memorialize your pal.
Losing these little guys is heartbreaking. Our rescue dogs passed away 5-1/2 and 4-1/2 years ago. I still miss both of them a lot. So sorry for your loss. Time does help.
So Sorry. This is a poem I found after my Bear died last year.
This is where we part, my friend,
and you'll run on around the bend.
Gone from sight, but not from mind;
new pleasures there you'll surely find,
I'll go on, I'll find the strength;
life measures quality, not it's length.
One long embrace before you leave,
share one last look before I grieve.
There are others, that much is true.

Sorry you lost your friend. Remember the good times, there must have been so many. Be glad you had time together, and be glad for the love you shared as a dog/human bond, it is special. I'm sorry.

It is really hard when they go.
