Stanwyck was a comeback kid just like Tina Turner was in music.
Stanwyck stepped back into the scene in 83 with the Thorn Birds.

I watched her movies from when sound was new..she never disappointed. Shrewd and tough was she.

Carole Lombard sad story in 1/16/42 She was only 33....

After refueling in Las Vegas, TWA Flight 3 took off at 7:07 p.m. and crashed into Double Up Peak near the 8,300-foot (2,530 m) level of Potosi Mountain, 32 statute miles (51 km) southwest of the Las Vegas airport. All 22 aboard, including Lombard, her mother, Winkler and 15 U.S. Army soldiers, were killed instantly.

I would like to add that Carole Lombard was returning from a war bond rally in her native Indiana when she died in the plane crash. Clark Gable was devastated and never really recovered.

Side note: Clark Gable and Carole Lombard were married here in Kingman on March 29, 1939, during the filming of Gone With the Wind. Rumor had them spending their honeymoon night at the Oatman Hotel in Oatman, AZ on Route 66. However, Clark Gable wrote, "We were married at three-thirty that afternoon and left at five-thirty, getting home the next morning at three." If you go to Oatman you can see the room where they supposedly stayed.

If she were my neighbor today, it would be very-very-very hard to avoid become a Peeping TripleSe7en from inside my home.

It would be very hard not to stare at her, should I see her outdoors.
I am going to look for a girlfriend that looks just like Loretta, in my next life on this planet.
We do get (2) lives..... don't we?

I am smitten with Grace...she was my moms favorite too.

Many years ago when I was young, I got on a Greta Garbo kick and learned everything there was to learn about her. It’s the time period you mentioned…20’s. Wait a sec it’s coming back to me, I borrowed a cd from the library which was the “Anything Goes” soundtrack. It set off an interest in the entire Cole Porter era…
