Looky what I got at Ace today

I went into Ace to get some furnace filters on sale. Looky what I found on their Clearance Table:

It came with the Battery, Charger, Blade, and heavy-duty box for it all. Amazon sells new for $219. Ace had a reconditioned one for $99.00 + 40% off. So, I walked out the door with my first Dewalt power tool, for only $60.

Why would I want such a thing -- you may ask? Because I'm getting ready to work on the peak section of our house. I have to cut some sections of rotten trim boards at about 20' up -- with a wobbly 24' (Type 3) ladder, and I don't like heights. I figured this task would be simpler with a cordless saw -- vs. a heavy 100' ext. (12 ga.) cord on my regular circular saw. (less chance of sawing off my arm, or through the cord). Do you think this new little monster can cut through metal flashing, or will it kick back and still cut off my arm?

I can't offer any advice on the tool itself, but please be careful. My dad fell off a ladder 2 years ago with a running saw in his hand. Luckily he had presense of mind to throw the saw away from himself as he fell, but he broke 2 vertebrae in his neck when he landed. He's marked for life with a neck that doesn't turn or bend.

I think I might go buy myself a 32' Type I (or 1A) ladder. I borrowed my neighbors last year, and it was great (it was very heavy to move around though). My neighbors have their own painting business. They have helped my with the peak sections on my front, and other side. They are very busy this year, and I do not want to wait for them. Plus, I've already paid them the price of the ladder on the other 2 sides. My 24' ladder is too wobbly once I'm at 18'. Of course mine is rated at 200 lbs. Me + paint = slightly over that.

I really only have 1 board to cut -- on the house. The rest will be "remove & replace". I think the saw was still a good find.
