Looking for new tires, considering BFG Advantage Control..thoughts?

Currently have Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady 235/50/VR 18 on ny 2015 Impala. I am not a Goodyear fan, but I freaking love these tires. The handling is beyond expectations and they are quiet and smooth. That being said I can save about $300 for a set with the BFG. Both tires are roughly a 65K tire and I have roughly 60K on the Goodyears.

I haven't had my hands on the BFG but with both being V rated, is the sidewall of the BFG less robust than the Goodyear? I really don't want to lose the handling characteristics of the Assurance with a slightly squirmy, soft sidewall tire.

Very curious to anyone who has had both or at least the BFG. I like the tread pattern of the BFG, looks like a quiet tire, if they handle well I might go with them. All input appreciated.

I think you'd be happier with the Cooper Endeavor. But it's more of a tire for a normal driver in the dry southwest part of the USA.

I’ve had 2 separate sets of BFGoodrich tires, KO2 and Advantage Control TA Sport LT, they both are great at everything EXCEPT wet roads! I can spin the tires (okay okay… one tire) on my minivan in the rain… at 40mph.

But literally anything else? They’re fantastic. No idea how BFG managed to make tires like that.

Keep in mind that the BFG tires you're considering aren't 3-peak all-weather tires like the Goodyears you have on now.

If you still need all-weather traction but want a lower price, consider the Nokian Nordman Solstice. There's also the Toyo Celsius Sport, a W-rated all-weather tire available in your size

Nah, I saw the results. It was my decision. Don't feel bad.
I was a bit skeptical, but whatever. We don't use Pilot unless we need it between selling and purchasing another family car.
They are good in snow etc. They are definitely better in wet than the Kumho Escta LX I had once. Now, that is another level.

My wife has worn the fronts down to 2/32, my fault for not rotating them but I want them off so it’s a win win!

Thought about these on my Equinox. Still have the OE ones….and they seems to do ok all around.

Bad in the rain is a concern for me though…..

Yea, I think Michelin is neglecting BFG except for the KO series. Costco is pushing the Advantage Sport for things that Michelin doesn’t sell a fitment in. Michelin USA is putting more effort into Uniroyal it seems as their budget brand.

I think BFG is a more rounded tire than Uniroyal.
The thing is, BFG has a really bad wet performance, but the rest is really good, including the overall quality of the tires.
K/O are also junk in rain.
