The new Dodge 6.7s have been having a ton of issues...mostly from the EPA emissions [censored] thats mandated on diesel engines today

Not just the Cummins Dodge but all light truck diesels with EGR/DPF systems...Dodge just happened to be the first to attain 2010 compliance and they did it with the 2007.5 model...Most issues were software related and the newer flashes have been quite successful at fixing the problems. Now wait until the GM and Ford trucks try to get it figured out!

everyone that i know are still having issues with thier programming, one guy has had to been towed atleast 4 times from dpf plugging

My reaction exactly! I wonder if this person understands what an engine alone will cost for this vehicle? The good news is that at least he IS changing it.

OK - so just what is a "decent" oil change? One that only includes one's personal favorite brand?

To me, and the SAE, API, and ILSAC, it's an oil change with any qualified and lincensed product(s). Don't mind us; we just base our decisions on the combined total of millions of testing miles, thousands of design and developmental hours, and cumulative education of several hundreds of engineers ...

If he wants to stick to OEM specified OCIs, and uses licensed products, there is ZERO reason to think that he's not maintaining his vehicle with any less care than a pampered garage toy that gets synthetics every 1k miles. Unless you value rhetoric and mythology more than data and analysis.

If I had a 6.7, or any other DPF equipped diesel-that DPF would be the FIRST thing to go, that's why I bought my '06 Dodge & not a newer one-they are (really censored!!) on oil!!

I love my 6.7 ltr Cummins especially since all the emmisions related equipment fell off. I now have an aftermarket turbo and suncoast tranny. The tranny was my fault not due to the Smarty or power level.
