When I was much younger, I lived next door to a older lady who had many children and grandchildren who came to visit her, and one of the grandchildren was my friend named Darren.

His mom drove a dark green 1974 or 1975 Pontiac Firebird. This pic was taken in about 1982; and by then the car was badly worn and rusted out - I remember clear as day that the back fender had rusted so badly it 'flapped' away from the body! Before Darrens mom got rid of it, though, my mom got a pic of Darren and I looking 'cool' in the car...I'm in the passenger seat, lol.

Just a fun, nostalgic photo, enjoy!

Unfortunately no one in a 1970s Firebird will ever look as cool as this man:

My mom had a Blue Firebird with the hood scoop I think that said 6.6 and flaming bird.

There's a white one (pretty sure that it's got a blue chicken on the front) for sale in the next town to me, with a 400 in it...$28k gets my trigger finger itchy every time I drive past it.

Awesome pic! Thanks for posting! Was that your family's car?

The street I lived on where that pic was taken seemed to be a predominantly GM street; I remember there were relatively few Fords around, and no Licolns.

I know this was just a coincidence, but, it in that time period GM did own over 60% of the NA car market, and it sure showed on my street.

Yup, he drove a gold 1978 Firebird 'Esprit', I think...the luxury version. Nice car.
