Longer AMSOil filter replacement

Pablo, I'll repeat my question.....

Dakota 2002 4.7 uses the Amsoil SDF 42 oil filter. Is there a longer/deeper version of the same filter I could use. Which is the largest filter I can use? I would assume the larger filtration area would be of some benefit, maybe very minor, but some. Looking for details regarding filtration capacity also.

Rebel the answer is there.

1) when you go outside the recommended size you are you own to find out what fits, never a guarantee on fit.

2) Someone said the SDF-15 fit their 4.7: "On my 4.7 in Jeep GC, I'm using the SDF15 with no clearance problems."

3) The dimensions of the SDF-42, 96,15 and even the 26 have all been posted. All 4 are about 3.72" OD and SDF:

42 = 3.966" long
96 = 4.336" long
15 = 5.726" long
26 = 7.125" long

Buy an SDF-96 next change, it should fit with ease. Then see how much room you have, lengthwise.

OK?

And of course all have 3/4"-16 threads.
