So I was down in the dumps last week...
Picked up a part at an LKQ Pull-A-Part self-service junkyard. I found that LKQ will add, by default, a 30% surcharge for a "90-day guarantee". I'm not really sure what benefit this provides. I think even if you reject the guarantee you can still return a defective part within 30 days.
Maybe the benefit is if you want to parts cannon a problem, you can replace stuff, and it if doesn't work, get your money back? I dunno, I don't think I've ever needed to return a junkyard part anyway.

You still get a 30-day exchange option even if you don't spring for the 90-day guarantee:
The LKQ Pick Your Part 30 Day Worry-Free Guarantee gives you the confidence that if you purchased the wrong auto part, the auto part does not fit, or the auto part is not working correctly, you can bring the auto part back for an exchange within 30-days of purchase. The 30 Day Worry-Free Guarantee is included in every parts purchase at no added cost to you. The 30-Day Worry-Free Guarantee is not available in California or Maryland. You must have the original receipt dated 30-days or less, and the auto part must be marked. Be sure your auto parts are marked at the time of purchase. Ask an LKQ Pick Your Part associate for more information.
What do you think? 30% extra just to be able to return stuff? Doesn't seem worth it to me. I'd rather roll the dice.
Oh wow, I didn't see the lifetime battery replacement policy. That's interesting.
