I use Mobil-1 75W/90 in both diffs in my 2006 Sierra. No problem. Don't buy the AC Delco gear lubes.

Thanks so much everyone ! great info !

ive ordered: 5 quarts Redline SYN 75/90 gear oil
1 new drain bolt for transfer case.
2 bottles of Autotrack 2 for the case.

Im going to ask the shop if they will install a drain bolt in my tranny pan on this pan drop im doing next week. after that i will start using better products like Amsoil and Redline in the tranny and wont even thin about changing the filter for 2-3 cycles of tranny fluid.

Any tips on a model number for a lower gear oil pump ? lots of them on amazon, any certain ones fit the Redline bottles ?

I do not know which pumps fit RedLine bottles.

I will look tomorrow night at Walmart for the correct pump for the auto-track fluid.

This one looks like it would fit the auto-trak bottles.

Appreciate it !

Here is one that the guy claims works with Red Line fluid.

Pump

These are some reviews.

Good

Purchased one of these to help change the transmission fluid on my RX8. Used it with a bottle of redline fluid. Fit perfectly, no leaking, and made the job nice and easy. Price is perfect, and shipping was fast!

great little pump, got my 2.8 quarts of redline into my transmission faster than expected, with scant drops spilled between bottles, what more could you ask for the price?

To those who say this does not fit red line oil bottles, well - it's true, it doesn't screw securely on, but it does fit, and the draw tube reaches the bottom of the bottle, so while it doesn't screw onto the bottle neck (redline bottles are a hair smaller than "normal") it does work with redline just fine.

I just received this pump, and the packaging says that it pumps 4cc per pump. That is a very small amount: it will take 250 pumps to pump one liter. (Edited - see comments.)

It worked as expected, but I had to transfer the Red Line Manual Transmission oil from its original container because the pump did not fit the bottle. It works fine in a standard one quoter oil bottle.

Yes! I may have to transfer fluids from one bottle to another but thats not a biggie. I appreciate all the info.

Im back from vacation and alot of wrench time, I got the Redline 75/90 SYN gear oil and upon chainging out the old for the new i was blown away at the "Feel" of my truck, Its odd to explain but the driveline simply felt thicker, like there was more cushion in line.. this also led to the initial feeling of a little more pedal being needed to get going. the old gear oil was very filthy and came out pretty thin V.S. the new gear oil..

The transfer case was swapped out with the Autotrack 2 and was a Breeze.

Now the biggest change in my opinion was the Tranny, Let me first say its amazing what you get used to or what becomes normal. That being said i took my truck to my mom and pop trusted shop and let them Flush the tranny via the lines, Upon the first drive i noticed a HUGE difference in the way the truck shifted, just pure butter, its fantastic.. and i thought it was pretty nice before ! Owner operator Andy explained that the pan drop only gets about half the fluid out and you of course get a new filter. My last service at 40,000 was a pan drop.. this was a Flush where he claims all the fluid is exchanged.. and boy does it feel good ! between the front and rear diff, transfer case and Tranny it feels like a brand new pickup at 68,000 on the clock.. Amazing.

And i did go to Walmart and purchased a lower gear oil pump for $7.00ish, I cleaned a standard quart bottle and transfered fluid into it, transfer case and both diff's were a breeze to fill..

Only complaint was i didnt look at my rear diff before i started and i coulda swore it had a drain plug..NO, Cover has to come off, glad i had a tube of Copper Gasket maker in my box..
