I think most of you have not heard much if any Johnny Winter, because he should be making these lists. Liner notes for Second Winter, Legacy Edition, really get to the heart of it:

Agree 100%. Can always put just about any of his cd's on and sit back an listen and feel refreshed and at peace with myself/world.

I saw Ben Harper, w/ Juan, Michael Ward(an excellent guitarist-used to be in School of Fish, then played in Jakob Dylan's band) and others on PBS last weekend. Love it.
Juan is a monster, and that electrified Weisenborn that Ben plays sometimes is crazy.
Gotta mention Mr. Robert Cray as well.

I forgot to add JW. He's one of my favorites too. Ronnie Montrose is another real good one, and I'm sure there's others I didn't list.
