Even "Mama I'm Coming Home" doesnt really jive with me

  • This interent news article just opened my eyes. While I have zero use for "The Boss," I think I dislike the writers who keep doing this more than Bruce Springsteen. Of course he tops my lists of over rated. But look what we get subjected to. Every time some one makes a list of the best of ANYTHING... some writer (they must get a bonus for mentioning the guy) has to paste him all over. REALLY, an internet article this morning and this is how they open it.... this photo of guess who!? UGH PLUS he is not even top of the list. I had to endure the whole thing to see what they picked and he was almost last.

I like Boston the band! They have a song that's my Mom's name as well. But The Cars? Hey, the lead singer died, okay, but the songs seem basic and dumb to me. I always end up not listening to them.

Drive was "okay".. Can we throw Mark Knopfler after Dire Straits in here?

Agree...........I thought she shoulda coulda be good................just couldn't. There is a certain timing missing too. Jazz singing maybe isn't fast or slow.....but the timing is not as forgiving as rock or opera....she just misses. I wanted to like her.

Really enjoyed the raw / basic , old style sound of that studio album. Way before all of the new technology they have gone to these days with music. Its a disgrace what is going across the country today and charging people outrageous $$$$ to see what they think is Lynyrd Skynyrd. Its no more than a cover band. Gary Rossington is the only real member left playing. Most are dead by now.

I forgot. Rickey Medlocke and Artimus Pyle could be considered original members from way back. Medlocke - original drummer with Bob Burns before he turned to lead guitar and left to form Blackfoot. Pyle walked in and took over for Bob Burns not long after the very first album. So I think Rossington / Medlocke and Pyle are the only ones left alive. Pyle being pushed out many years ago in some squabble.
