1971 Chevy Impala fist car ran great but my father sold it and
bought me that ugly Gremlin when gas prices went up....Chevy had
a 400 4 barrel and and got 12 miles per gallon.
1972 - Gremlin is butt-ugly IMHO but never any problems.
1970 - Buick Skylark GS 455- ran like a bat-out-[censored] but auto trans went and sold it it for 500 bucks like a dumb-[censored]
I would give my left you know what to have it back.
1980 GMC 1500 truck with a inline six ...lost to wife in divorce
after 6 months
1979 Chevy Chevette - bought used and engine blew up traded
for a new 82 Toyota Truck and this began my love affair with Toyota that continues to this day.
82 Toyota truck.....drove to 210k miles and sold to friend for his son to learn to drive....he crashed it 2 months later.
1991 Toyota Corolla ..rove to 155k miles and traded for 96 Camry
1996 Toyota Camry drove it to 110k miles and traded for a 2002 Highlander
2002 Toyota Highlander - had 70k miles and Stole for a Fry's food store parking lot. replaced with another Highlander in 2007
2007 Highlander....still sticking with 2.4 chain timing belt engine...used Mobil 1 since 1k oil change...only 20k miles on
it...my wife loves these Highlanders. Gets pretty good MPG too
We are retired now....I was lucky and stopped working at 50 in 2007 ..I hope this Highlander last the rest of my life!
If I had to buy another car Im sure it would be Toyota/Lexus...
however I dont think they are as good as they were back in 80's
up to about 95 or so.
A good car is like a Rolex watch or Colt revolver....
I bought a Rolex GMT back in 1982 and have sent it back to Rolex
4 times for cleaning and repair....it comes back looking like new and runs perfect....soon it will be 30 years old and would not trade it for anything...most all cars as so throw away these days. Thanks for reading my long car story.
