My ope gets a squirt of this.

There are a few lubes I am never without:
  1. NeverSieze or whatever name;
  2. ZEP45 or Breakfree;
  3. Marvel Mystery Oil;
  4. Mobil 1 in a bunch of different weights based upon use. And now a new one;
  5. Marvel Ultimate.
1 through 3 are self explanatory. We won't get into #4. But #5 is a new discovery to me. I've seen the opinions. Eh.

I have stuff from a 8hp log splitter to a JD410j. I run Mobile1 in all of them. Hydraulics? I run the usual equivalent fluid but this is out of scope. But recently a retailer had Marvel Ultimate on close out so I bought out everything on the shelf. Why? I've used Marvel oil for everything from cutting oil to additives for 30+ years. I works. So I tried it. First in a small engine - a Champion 3100 inverter generator. It cleaned it up from shutting down early. OK, so I added it to the primary generator: EU7000is. But it runs great anyway. No change. And I've played with a few other machines with the additive. Here is what I found:
  1. If you have a good running machine it won't make a noticeable difference. It's not like replacing pump gas for racing fuel;
  2. It doesn't make much difference in big machines as in a little one;
  3. It is well worth keeping on hand for the PITB applications.
I'm not sure what the 'mystery' is but it is good stuff - through out the product line. I keep it on hand.

I used this in my ope that smokes at start up
She has the typical leaks these engines have.
BS 26hp twin.

Starting in the 1970s:
STP in the cardboard can.
Rislone
Bardahl No-Smoke
Bought my first Mercedes 240D and:
Liqui-Moly once then never anything in a Mercedes or Beemer ever again.
Redline Break-in additive (rebuilding motorcycles)
Hotshots Secret Stiction Eliminator (Two 3k OCIs really did de-sludge and stop oil burning in a Chevy 4.3)
Generally nothing. Might do the Stiction Eliminator if presented with a sludgy motor again.

Diesel oil additives have been draining my wallet lately.

Holy flashback batman
