Liqui moly 4200 vs 4600 vs M1 ESP 5W30

Ya, dexos doesn’t set the bar very high. Resource conserving is not something I particularly look for in an oil. The VW and Porsche approvals are very stringent especially for a 30 grade.
Speaking of RC. That's just a slightly thinner base for the sake of fuel efficiency? The API SP is the important part of the API SP-RC seal, right? Essentially, API sp is the same in general. I ask because the Valvoline Euro 5w30 XL III is API SP without RC.

A lower HT/HS.

I would just run any ACEA C3 rated oil in the 30 weight range. You’ll just have to pick a flavor and UOA for data. Another great oil in this category is Penzoil Euro LX 0w-30 made in Germany. It’s available on Amazon for a reasonable price. Honestly can’t go wrong with any Euro oil mentioned in this thread. I’m confident it will keep wear down in a Subaru WRX.

I ordered the Valvoline Euro 5w30 xl iii and will be doing a VOA and a UOA after the second run

That oil is both - C2/C3 so it's 'resource conserving' or provides a bit better fuel economy than straight C3.
Another great oil is M1 ESP 0W-30 which is C3 - it's got better availability e.g. WM shelves, and is 'Recommended by ExxonMobil for applications requiring ACEA C2'. I'd say these two oils can be used pretty much interchangeably, used them both, and like them equally well.

BTW, I'm not 100% sure how an oil can be both C2 and C3 since C2 supposed to have HTHS at 2.9 or lower while C3 - 3.5 or higher.
C2/C3 oils have HTHS 3.5 or higher but show fuel economy benefits of a C2. They’re the best of both worlds.
