Liqui moly 4200 vs 4600 vs M1 ESP 5W30

Just run ESP 0w30 and call it a day.

If Subaru wants to deny your engine warranty you’ll see them in arbitration.

If your that concerned about warranty you best have every service done at the dealer and on time.

I may just do that. Any reason to not use 5w30 esp in summer (Georgia) and 0w30 in winter (low teens, and i drive in middle of night often for hospital call)

Since we have the same car, I would say the engine/turbo will naturally eat some oil if you push it hard, coming from experience of checking the dipstick very often. I'm currently running HPL PC5W30 which is their entry level PCMO. Just got the car dyno run and tuned last week so I'll be switching it to HPL Supercar 5W-40 in the next drain for future track days after getting some suggestions from David a few weeks ago. He said the PC 5W30 is fine as well for high horsepower applications.

Yea I have noticed it. That's why I just pour the full 5 qts. I can't justify the price of HPL for my short OCI which I plan on sticking with. Especially at stock power.

I run 10w40 in my SBC and started just fine at -9°f last month. Your temps are insignificant for the oil and your car, just pick 1 and run it all year, no issues with either. I would personally run V EP 5w30 but pick the easiest to acquire, out of your choices and call it a day

Since you're like me and Interested in short OCIs and high HTHS - then (unlike me) want to keep the jug pricing as low as possible, go check-out the Amsoil OE lineup.

I think you get free shipping on a $100 order. If needing more info, contact Pablo here.

With all the buzz here going-on about VRP oils, I do believe every member here with a used vehicle that can use 5w20/30, should at least try it. I'm going to later this year. There's just to much positive feedback coming back from members here that have used it.

That's what I'm running. I even have a UOA with VRP.

I’d pick one and not worry about it. If you have an oil related issue they will probably just want to see your receipts. They will not get into the level of certifications that you mention.

Been there, done that.

You've had experience with that with subaru?

Valvoline euro 5w30 xl iii is another one I'm considering. Just wish I could find more reviews or any VOA/UOA. but the certs are great

Yes. I had oil getting past the seals in my FXT’s turbo. The service manager knew I was anal about oil and didn’t even ask for any receipts. She spoke to the district Subaru rep and convinced him that SoA should cover it under warranty even though I was at 62k miles (I had mentioned a smoke issue prior to 60k). I made it a point to go the dealer for some service and there was no issue getting it taken care of under warranty.

I think the relationship between the owner and the service department and the relationship between the service manager and the SoA rep are most important.

I switched to 5W-30 early on in my warranty period and wasn’t concerned at all with running a thicker viscosity than recommended.

Ended up ordering 2x 5qt jugs of Valvoline Euro xl iii 5w30. I'll be sending a virgin sample to Oil analysis inc since I cannot find a VOA
