Hey guys, im looking to put a set of aftermarket hella fog lights behind my grill infront of the radiator on my nissan versa. My question is, its a tight squeeze, the lights are going to be about 2 inches from the front of the radiator, does the outside of the radiator get hot (even on long distance travel)? I dont want to install lights where they melt and get absolutely ruined. Thanks!

you should be fine.. air will flow behind the lights and pass thru the radiator. at idle when things are hot, the cooling fan should pull air through as well, so air should be moving most of the time.
Hey Eric, thanks for the reply. I was wondering about the lights themselves actually, any chance of them getting hot from the radiator itself?
Are the lights 2" from the condenser or radiator? Some cars run hotter because of reduced airflow with lights located where you are mounting them.
The lights are gonna heat up way much more than the radiator.
Just make sure you route the wires away from the heat lines.. protect 'em with a teflon or silicon tubing.. that'll resist the heat and they won't turn brittle to fast on ya!
