There’s a deal today for 47” LED 3D TVs at Fry’s. Both are the same price.

LG 42LM6200
Panasonic TC-L47ET5

Which would you choose? Early research so far shows the Panasonic to have an IPS panel, not sure on the LG. Both seem to have some complaints about less than perfect picture quality, but for the price I’m not going to be too critical.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Everything in my house is LG. I have a friend that has a Panasonic tv and it has an excellent picture. I would have to give it the edge over my LGs but we don't have any of the led 3d tvs, just lcds.

As a brand I think Panasonic is my favorite one for televisions, so I would probably go that route given what I know, but when push comes to shove, based on price and reviews I ended up with a Samsung. (Good sale price and good reviews) You'll have to decide if you can see the panels in action, use the menus and such as well to see if you like them. Also check the inputs to see if they each have what you want. I love how many inputs my Samsung plasma has, and the diversity of connections is great as well.

Panasonic doesn't actually make passive 3D panels, so it's an open secret that it's bought in the passive panels used in the ET5 range from LG.

Doesn't Panasonic make the panels for both of them though?
