Absolute is usually beta 1000 which is 99.9%. I know Donaldson likes throwing around beta 1000 numbers. It's practically 100%. Saying "100%" isn't any industry standard I have seen before.

It doesn't belong to me personally. Is this your under maintained equipment or something you’re servicing for a company that poorly maintains there equipment, just curious?
What do you mean you're no buying the 30k mile talk? Not buying the 30k talk. No one here including you will ever use an oil 30k-40k cause they are scared. It’s been done here by few members. Hours don’t count.
We don’t pay squat for our Safety Kleen oil at my work
Obviously you won’t listen to reason now I see this. You have obviously never saw the long distance test Doug Hillary and others have soke either. I bet you think my work fleet is crazy for going 8,500 and 10k OCI’s on oil then?!What do you mean you're no buying the 30k mile talk?
Do you not believe 30k miles could be a thousand hours?
No reasonable person would run their own stuff for a thousand hours on an oil change.
If amsoil or hpl gave me a vehicle to run crazy high oci on then I would, not going to do it on anything I'm paying for.
If hours don't matter then why are all the oil company tests, API and EPA tests done in hours?
10k miles ran up in less than 6 months backed up with OEM recommendations isn't crazy at all.Obviously you won’t listen to reason now I see this. We haven’t ever had an engine issue doing this. I’ve saw many of our vehicles coke back with over 20k cars r longer since last maintenance.
If folks here like dNewton, WWilson and others have successfully ran an oil out to even 50k WITH FACTS AND ACTUAL DATA it can be done. Stop making assumptions and quoting “hours”.
I know at my work we do what we do and never an issue. We don’t follow this hour thing you love to discuss. I bet you think I’m crazy using a quality oil like HPL for 15k eh?10k miles ran up in less than 6 months backed up with OEM recommendations isn't crazy at all.
That's likely only around 300 hours or less depending on how they're used. I've cut open plenty of 300 to 400hr filters and found almost nothing.
I've got one little 15L diesel that recommends 1,500hr oil changes, if that many hours can be put on there in less than 6 months. Longest I've seen one of those go for was 1,300hrs over 2 or 3 years. I would not recommend doing that. The 2 engines I've seen that had problems likely from the oil not being changed had over 2000 and 3000 hours on them.
API and oil company testing using hours isn't me making assumptions.
It’s kinda hard to run on only mileage on a gen set.I know at my work we do what we do and never an issue. We don’t follow this hour thing you love to discuss. I bet you think I’m crazy using a quality oil like HPL for 15k eh?
Point is I have UOA and data. So I am not crazy jist hate wasting an oil.
Yeah Genset such as a standby or flood light, air conditioner, pump, test engine. It’s kinda hard to run on only mileage on a gen set.
Hpl is good stuff. Practically immune to viscosity breakdown. Probably only soot buildup, fuel dilution would contaminatenit to the point of not being able to use it or eventually acid from combustion would neutralize your tbn and turn the oil corrosive.I know at my work we do what we do and never an issue. Over the course of 800 hours on a new engine usually none if the oil is changed on time, you fill it up to the full mark and then by the time you need to add more it's time to change it. I would guess less than 3qt, over all 788hrs since it says oil was added, no mention of how much was added, unless it's an unusually large amount.Beta 100 is 99% efficiency, not 100%. But 99% @ 25u is still pretty good.
