Lexus GS450H Oil Analysis

Good afternoon all,

Can I get some feedback on this oil report from Blackstone. I don't drive the car that much(2700miles/year). Have been running SuperTech 5w20, but will be changing it out and sending another sample to Blackstone.

It's possible the elevate Fe is from corrosion from infrequent driving. Just a thought. That's the only thing that stands out.

If this is your first sample it would be better to keep testing more intervals. That way we can give you a better idea of whether things are improving or getting worse. At 98k & 7.5k miles that is elevated Iron wear. If it's lived a life of short tripping then it may just be the nature of its environment. Welcome & thanks for posting your GS450H UOA.

I've seen it several times from stuff that doesn't get driven a lot. It wouldn't hurt to sample again later on but don't get stressed out about it.

I have been trying to drive it more often...Should I look at changing to a different brand of oil?

That's a 3 year OCI?

I'd consider something name brand such as Pennzoil Ultra Platinum (currently 30$ rebate on 2 jugs)
Mobil 1 ESP 0w20 etc.
And going to a 2 year interval even if its 5000 miles.

I also think its possible corrosion iron in the UOA from the very low use.
What is your location?

Yes, that test was on a 3-year OCI. I will be changing the oil soon and changing to your recommendation on the oil, and at 2 years this time around. I'm in Brooklyn, New York.

Try Amsoil ZRod. It is a very potent oil, but it has excellent corrosion inhibition.
