Lets talk about new vehicles

I got in the Outlander today well under 300 miles and it seemed like a different car... appears to be broken in or on the way...
Got 42.9 mpgs average over 12 miles of rural roads ... 45 to 55 mph..

Not a real hybrid either... everything is smoothing out quickly plus it was a nice cool morning... 62F when I left and 69 on return
.

New best fuel economy for the CRV hybrid (3.6 equals 65 MPG)

I’m a campus cop…one of our habitual trespassers drives a Prius with no seats. The entire cabin of the car is filled with stacked folded cardboard with a tiny space for the driver. You can’t make this stuff up!
We have a couple hoarders in town that have their cars so full of paper, cardboard, and who knows what else that the suspension is squished, they bang on the bumps, and they can hardly see out the side and rear windows. I do not understand how they have not been ticketed off the road at this point.

New cars and road trips go together ❤️
So this I95 is a wake up call im my area... it's really crazy on I95....
I don't like cameras but some areas of I95 are very dangerous

The shifter like on Nissans take a few days to get used to. I like it because if you are at a long light in the pack you just hit the park button and you sit in auto shut-off and you're not killing your brake lights and auto hold doesn't like going into auto stop... it works very well...

The auto hold now works great and the start-stop is super seamless...

I pretty much have it all dialed in...

The rental car I have today is a 2026 Trailblazer. I’m not a fan of this one. As usual I get way better gas mileage than its rating. It is rated at 28.6 MPG highway but I have been averaging 39.2 and that’s with the AC on. Although that’s just what the onboard readout says so it could be off. But even if it is off by 10% I’m still doing pretty well here 🤓
