Lets talk about new vehicles

Saw an old friend yesterday. She just bought a new 26 Toyota Crown Hybrid. They soaked her for..........get ready for it.....Sixty Six Thousand dollars. She had been shopping cars and admitted that she was worn out at the dealership and just signed on. That is $9,500. over what is advertised in stock in her area for the same model and trim.

What a bummer. Wish she had asked for help shopping.
Maybe @Zee09 can sell it for her. $70K

I have not seen any paperwork only what she stated to me about the price.
This is great. So she has money-spent it on a vehicle, more than you would spend. And you come on here and don't even have all the information. Man - us retirees on here have a lot of time on our hands.

This is why I bought a Mitsubishi over a Toyota....

If she got fleeced it's nobody's fault but here own. Did you see the signed papers? Are there warranties/protection plans for the excess?
The thing is we don't know the whole dynamic to the situation.

An example was during covid 2022 I had to get a new vehicle to transport my wife when she got sick. I ended up shopping around for an over a week before I settled on a Honda Passport Trailsport and paid MSRP. Did not bother me a bit. I didn't underpay nor overpaid. the price was the price. Got it at end of month with a bunch of options I did not have to pay for so I was pleased with the deal.

Right. Somebody gets online and creates a post lacking lots of detail. OK. I don't get it.
Another KUMBAYA "bash dealer threads"? I'm sorry-unless I see something like "the dealership held a long object over her threatening her with bodily injury for not signing"-signing is still on her.

Oh boy and the negative comments continue. There is a trend here in social media where members of various forums just love to argue, insult and complain instead of being respectful to one another.

I was in another thread recently where a member actually sent some nonsense link in order to prove a point using straw man arguments. These kind are impossible to deal with.

I only call it the way I see it. There isn't any other intent of that post-IMHO. BTW-you can block those whose comments you don't wish to see anymore on this fourm.

I should not have to block a comment or member. When members conduct themselves as adults and with decorum it's a non issue. Of course on very rare occasions I have found myself caught up in it (arguing) and have to just click away when it gets out of control. My bad for letting the trolls get to me.

I personally refuse to treat a social media platform as my personal place complain, argue, gaslight and insult others.

Annnnnddddd now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I can’t afford the high dollar Mitsubishi rides @Zee09 buys, but we did buy a 23 Edge to replace the wrecked one. 😮. Need to update my Sig.

Not many Mitsubishi dealers in the metro and the closest one is unfortunately sleazy beyond belief. You know the kind that specializes in preying on people who really have no business buying a new car. Extortion of the ignorant and unqualified, disgusting.
