Lets talk about new vehicles

The CRV hybrid that I have as a loaner gets about the same gas mileage as my little 2.0 Civic.

4.3L per 100 km equals 54.7 MPG

I found this Transit......
I like the bulkhead.....
I think back to the early 80s and my father was driving our "75" cargo van to work down on I95 and I offered to go and help him on the job but he wanted me to finish up another job...

We argued it and he won.. those old vans had no headrest and those low seats. He had a bulk head for the driver only...
He was hit by a truck on the interstate and was forced off the road and he got beat up and was in the hospital for a week but the passenger would have been decapitated...

Ladders flew through the windshield and a bunch of other bad things.. I dodged a bullet that day...

My local Honda dealer is lowering prices and giving lower interest rates as they fear the Hybrid fleecing may be over ...they were really ripping when the gas went up

I was thinking about a bulkhead to keep wife in the back

They probably know the end is near ???
Actually it seems Nissan (or JATCO) got their act together on their CVT's around 2020 or 2021 and they've been pretty good vehicles since then. For the average person looking for a 'commuter car' the Sentra can be had for a lot less than a Civic or Corolla and the latest 2026 version looks good too.

Just so you know I'm not a cvt basher... A family member has 340k miles on a 2014 Mitsubishi cvt and a friend in Florida has mid 200k on a Rogue cvt...
I drive Mitsubishis myself

Daughter had 130K miles before her Rogue CVT failed. But in all fairness it was one of those problem years. So she did well. Got a rebuild and approaching 180K

What year is the Rogue your "friend" has? I also read somewhere they spent a little extra coin per unit and improved them around 19-20. Heavier duty, chains maybe, not belts?

Seriously was it regularly serviced as my friends hasn't been until I did it a few years ago and I was very apprehensive in getting involved

I did one maybe two drain and refills with Castrol CVT fluid. Surely I extended its life.

And I am no longer anti CVT as the newer products work very well.
