Lets talk about new vehicles

My girlfriend and I went out for a nice Sunday drive today to explore a small town just over an hour away and spent the entire time on country roads going between 60-80 kmh. The Civic got 4.3L per 100km which is 54.7 MPG. I didn’t use the AC even though it was 80 degrees but it was very comfortable driving with the windows open 😎

I would still love to see what I could do with a new Prius during a drive like that. Maybe 70 MPG?
Went cruising in N. Central Mo last week. Drove the Maverick Hybrid about 150 miles and the ave for the day was 51 ish MPG The roads were most rural country roads with a max speed limit of 65 MPH. A lot of our driving was in the 50-60 mph range, as the roads were not straight. Lots of nice curves. WEEE!
We did use A/C as it was in the 80's. Going North we got 63 mpg coming home 46 mpg. The difference was a 20 mph tail wind became a 20-30 mph headwind in the afternoon. A great drive as we ran into a gas war in Lexington, MO ONLY $3.98

My Mitsubishi Sport is doing great.
Smooth as silk, no rattles, a better radio and SiriusXM built in unlike Hondas dumb decision...

With AWD I get daily combined averages of 33 to 35 mpgs overall.
Not what I'm used to but great for a non hybrid SUV.

Actually my two favorite vehicles from recent times were the VW Arteon and the Ford Maverick.

The Arteon was good for 40 mpg and you actually got better mpgs by wringing it out...

The Maverick seats didn't fit me well due to a chronic back issue for over 40 years... I may try out one soon..
I can have the driver's seat altered..

The mpgs were incredible for a box 📦

What size engine?

I have considered a Toyota Camry and a full sized Outlander because of the local deep discounting..

However.....

I love the suggestions but I'm looking for a gas sipper even if gas was $2 a gallon...that thrills me
