Lets talk about new vehicles

6.8 L Ford MPG video on a new truck in the low 200 miles on it.
This guy is about 87.2 % stupid... 😁 😀 Irritation factor is high...

I get people daily that pull out in front of me...today I had three.. it's crazy.
Today I was going to pull out of my lane and always look multiple times and on the last time I saw what I should have seen prior.

A car the same color of mine sorta blended into the shaded road section so well it almost wasn't visible... light goes on in my brain....
Anyone else?

When I first got the Jetta, it was startling how much I was getting cut off or disrespected by other vehicles. Huge uptick from what had been normal. After several months of fearing for my life I set the headlights to be permanently on (in addition to the DRL’s) and it actually helped considerably. All I could figure was small white economy car not only blended in but was perceived as a more passive ride. I can’t find the words but you probably understand what I mean.

The Mustang has been the opposite. It has prominent DRLs, is a dark color and generally looks BA. I still occasionally get cut off but overall I have noticed people are more likely to yield to it even if I don’t have the right of way, particularly at 4-way stops.

I chalk all this up to the subtleties of human psyche, which I find interesting and have paid attention to for decades.

There is zero doubt that more will cut me off in our sedan or Jeep than will one of the Tahoe’s …

I do mostly shaded back roads and i think I'm blending in...it's crazy as they just pull out right in front of me and they all duck down too... you know that deal.
Not so in the Mitsubishi

I know that some cars in shaded areas are almost invisible. Last year I witnessed a near miss that would have probably been deadly. A car passed me on a two lane rural road and going downhill. He was probably doing 75. At the same time in the opposite lane a dark car was in the shadows doing probably 50..I spotted it but the car passing me did not see it. I was on my brakes at that point. At the last second the passing car saw it and was able to pull into the spot that I made for him. If the car in the shadows had lights on the situation would have been avoided.

My cars have lights on at all times to avoid not being seen.

Wow, was gonna say.

My wife drives the Tahoe but when I’ve taken it to work, the same parties who cut the line and squeeze in out of turn, do not. I know it’s due to the “presence.” Sometimes it pays to own a vehicle where a step ladder is needed to check the oil 😂

Get the next car in bright red, then the cops will help you :)
