Lets talk about new vehicles

Truth...I toasted a clown tonight in a lowered late 80s stang...back roads tailgating fool. .we hit the hills and twisties and his undercarriage was throwing sparks. Party over ...

You keep this up and you’re going to get into trouble. 👮‍♂️

Somehow I’ve managed not to get pulled over yet in the Stang, I’ve definitely deserved it. 😮

You can't even take a drive around here without some clown tailgating you. The roads I travel have no shoulders to pullover either..

Imagine the stang dudes ego getting aced by a crew cab hybrid prius 😆 🤣 😂

And you bought it anyway?
Yep. They were fairly rare and crazy deals back in 2008 since 6MT only and no one bought one. It didn't burn any oil at all even, which is slightly rare for S54 engines. I'm not a big break-in believer for engines that already get redlined at the factory. I do follow the instructions but I figured it would be no worse for the wear since those engines are made to handle abuse.

Drove it like he stole it .... probably seated in the piston rings pretty good. When ever I test drove a new vehicle, I didn't really baby it and ended up buying most of them. They've all ran strong and never burned any oil, so it might have helped the initial break-in. I test drove a new Mustang GT (it already has ~60 miles on it) with the sales guy and ran it up over 100 for a short time, and after the test drive back at the dealership he said "that was pretty fun".
Yeah it also felt really strong compared to my buddy's E46 M3 with the same engine. I had zero problems with that car other than breaking cupholders if you had an oversized drink in them when launching the car.

I know you're getting bored...
Did a Popeyes run today..getting close .
I know 3 Maverick owners. Their window stickers don't show this.
I went on Ford to order today just to see but Ford doesn't offer axle ratios for the hybrid right now.
Is this the secret ?????
Just hit 2000 miles today..

I can’t afford two car payments while maintaining my investment/saving standards.

Wild.

A new truck will have to wait.

Yeah it's real fun to lose a "sports car" on a twisty road, and blast off the apex with instant torque. Also toasted a new 2024 Tacoma from a stoplight to the next one. Put it in sport MODE and listened to the fake Coyote soundtrack. It was close but I beat him. See, you can have fun in a sleeper hybrid "sport truck"

It's a continuously variable secret

Well I sort of tried today. The sorted details. Needed a prescription. 59F here today and I filled up the tank with 87 Sunoco.
Tire psi under by 1 psi.
Average speeds in the 35 to 55 mph.
I hit five traffic lights and one traffic circle.
No hypermiling nonsense. Less than 1/2 mile of in town use.
Just a hair under 9 miles and just over 17 minutes in the road.
Maverick hybrid of course.

Here you go.....

You're taking a big hit with those underinflated tires. Take em 5 over and report back.

I did because it was stiff but I noticed it is breaking in and nowhere as harsh as it once was. Pretty amazing for a crew cab truck 🚚

Finally narrowed it down

2024 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum

2023 Kia Sorento AWD 2.5t Prestige
2024 exterior looks better but the interior is god awful for multiple reasons.

@KCJeep
This was the first day I got her from a rescue in Georgia. The rescue delivered all the pups in a Lincoln Town car. She was found half starved and the rescue took good care of her.

Stilllll thinking LOL.

Walked away from the Kia dealer (Destination - Yorkville) and they came back with a killer deal.

Really apprehensive about the unknown, their service department.

We’ve had amazing experiences with Steet Nissan, both before and after the dealership sold (formerly Carbone).

Central NY.

Back in the late '80s, a dimwit in an early 80's Z28 tried to keep up with my 1973 Bavaria 3.0 on a secluded rural two lane; I easily pulled away in the corners but when the road straightened out he really put his foot into it to catch me. Problem was, I knew the road had two huge frost heaves located 500' from the last corner (leading on to a long straight).
He didn't.
My Bavaria glided over the buckled pavement at 80+, but when the Camaro hit them the front end bottomed out and the front crossmember and oil pan dug into the pavement creating a beautiful shower of sparks. Twice. The last time I saw Z man he was s-l-o-w-l-y pulling over to the shoulder.
I laughed all the way home.
