I have some. I have a JD SBBP sitting on the shelf that I am afraid to try. Almost 68%. I also have and had the Romulan Ale Rye which was good but that is also higher proof. I have a Bruichladdich Scottish Rye too.
I have not had any of those. I'm not a fan of Scotch. Is their rye similar to that peaty taste?
No sir. Their regular Bruichladdich line including the Rye isn't peated.

Been a while since I posted on this thread(been out of country) anyway just bought this to add to my bar. Probably try it this weekend.
I picked these up today. I have a few bottles of the Classic Laddie and a bottle of Stagg 25B already but these were on sale. The Classic Laddie was by far the cheapest I have even seen. I also got this Port Charlotte. Other than PC special editions, I have only ever seen the 10yr. Don't know this one but the price was also too good to pass up.
Current collection. hoping to get some more during a bourbon trail trip later this year!
You must really like stiff coming out of the BT distillery! Haven't had any Van Winkle stuff or Weller myself. I bet it is good! Out of all of those, I had the Blantons, Eagle Rare, BT, Maker's and the Woodford. I would say maybe the ER and BT were better for me than the rest. Something about the double oaked doesn't sit too well.
I may have had a New Riff Single Barrel once too but that was years ago. As far as Ardbeg, I have had the Hypernova and it was ok. I do have a bottle of Spectacular but haven't opened it yet.
I've said this before but I prefer higher proof stuff. Has something to do with sense of taste and smell, or lack there of.
It's funny, the BT stuff is hard to come by at my local shops (have to know where to go to get it for MSRP). So whenever I find it for a good deal, I stock up as much as I can allocation wise. The ERs are from duty free, I love it - especially for $40 a bottle. I like BT too for a "reasonable" bourbon (some places charge over $50 for a fifth, I wouldn't go there, I'm $35 or less, maybe $40 if I'm craving it). The Van Winkle I won the opportunity to buy at MSRP (like $190) in a raffle last Thanksgiving. Haven't tried it yet. Blanton's, I like, but mostly buy it for other people that are more in love with it. It's good, but overhyped IMO, even from the BT line I think ER is better. The Weller SR I got for $26 a bottle so that was a deal - I would say I lean towards wheaters so I enjoy WSR. Wouldn't pay over MSRP a bottle though.
I would say flat out my favorite distillery is Makers - the normal 46 is amazing, even more so when you consider the price. The 46 Cask just takes that to a new level, either that or a private selection one with a mostly uniform stave profile is my favorite bourbon period. The plain Makers cask is awesome too. The normal makers is just my daily.
The Woodford double oaked is interesting - I've had 3 bottles of it. Loved the first and third one, it's like a dessert bourbon. Second one was off. I like Woodford overall.
The New Riff SB is excellent - got each of these bottles for $25 each on sale, now I think they are $55 or $60. Would still pay that.
The Arbeg is for sure an acquired taste - tastes like a good electrical fire.
I can never find any BT stuff for MSRP. I think the nest I go BT proper was maybe $40 but have seen way higher. My coworker got a bottle of Blantons for $60 and I think I paid $120 just to try it. I think the ER was $60. I know people who get Stagg (Jr) for MSRO but the cheapest I got it for was maybe $110. I would by a bottle of Van Winkle or Pappy for MSRP just to have it. I'm not into buying to resell but I know a lot of people do. Like I said, haven't tried Weller yet but that price I would buy 2 just in case. Forgot to mention, I do have 3 bottles of E.H. Taylor. I finished the first and it was ok. I have the Single Barrel to try and the Barrel Proof too.
Woodford, I like the regular better than the Double Oaked. Maybe I'll try again but not any time soon unless my wife buys it for me.

Have you tried Blue Note Juke Joint Uncut? I thought it was really good. Booker's too.
I haven't had the Markers 46 but I should try it soon but I would probably go for the Cask Strength instead.
Try some Octomore if you can deal with the peated stuff. I really like that stuff though it depends on the edition. I think the 14.2 was too "wine'ish" for me. The 16.2 I'm still not sure on. I liked it, then I didn't, then I did, etc... My favorite ones were the 11.3 and the Polyphonic. If it wasn't obvious, I'm a big Bruichladdich fan; both peated and non peated.

I haven't tried to Blue Note or Bookers! I've seen bookers a few places here for around $100 or so, not sure if that's a deal or not. I'll checkout the Octomore stuff - I love the peaty stuff.
I think that is around MSRP. The cheapest I have seen is $90. I usually pay between that and $100.
Octomore is pricey. Just want to warm you, but in my opinion it is in a different league. High ABV and extremely tasty.
Just cracked the KC 9 SiB tonight, that is an amazing bourbon. 120 proof so you'd probably love it! Tastes like luxardo cherries, oak, tobacco and a hint of spice. Amazing pour.
