Big Horn Sheep in it's winter coat. A Dall sheep to be more specific. I saw some on the mountainside along the road between Fairbanks and Anchorage in 1978.

+1 on the bighorn sheep. Saw a batch while heading North in BC last summer. Sheesh ...

... I think that's the only one I've recognized.

It's a Dall Sheep, Ovis dalli.
Bighorns are Ovis Canadensis. I don't think they change the color of their coats in winter.

As to the big horn sheep, NZ property owner are getting large sums of money from hunters hunting Merino rams.
