I've seen them leak too, recently Castrol, and Mobil.

And yet out of the gallons of SOPUS jugs no leaks here. If you are buying in bulk drums I don't see how this is a issue.

i buy the jugs of Mobil High Mileage because my brother does not get the High Mileage oil in the drums..
And even when i had my shop up until last year i sometimes bought jugs because i always changed my oil at my house in my driveway or garage because we were always jammed for space and it was neater and easier with the jugs.

How would doing oil changes at home be easier? Assuming your "shop" had a vehicle lift, tools, bulk oil dispensing gun, large oil collector etc. If I had a proper shop I wouldn't want to do any work at home unless its an emergency or something that's immobile and needs immediate repair.

If your screen name were crazyfarmerguy you'd understand.
I wonder how that double security seal works on a 55 gal drum?
I also find that a light counterclockwise twist on any oil jug precludes any leaks from the cap during transport.

Although i do not have the shop anymore when i did before i sold it we were very very busy and really really pressed for space i had 4 bays and limited parking so most of the time it was easier for me to bring my own vehicles home.. In some cases i even took customers cars home at night due to parking. The back of my house where my driveway loops around is still stained with oil from vehicles i parked there.

fdcg27 ... First of all i was talking about the 5 quart containers not the drums... Then you said and i quote: I also find that a light counterclockwise twist on any oil jug precludes any leaks from the cap during transport. Are you saying that loosening the cap on the jugs stops them from leaking???? WOW

Thanks for the tip they say you learn something new every day...Who would have known...

I will say that I like jugs with foil seals. I don't have drums to worry about as I can get bulk oil from GULF station/repair place for $1.13qt and fill my old Valvoline 5qt jugs

Guys stop he's going to have a heart attack.

I will say that maybe some quart bottles aren't made correct. I also state that I don't care for some 5quart jugs in all honesty. End of discussion

I had a problem with leaky mobil jugs. I needed some oil for the work trucks and stopped into walmart. Most of the jugs on display had leaky seals. Was the shipment damaged? Maybe as almost half the jugs were leaking. That was the worst I ever seen. I also seen a few leaky valvoline and pennzoil jugs before. No company is immune.
