I was in a Canadian Tire today and I noticed they had Mobil Super HM and noticed the bottles were leaky from the sight gauge. They had about 10 in 5W-20, 5w30 and 10w30 and at least with 3 that were leaking in each grade.

Im not sure about the quart bottles but Mobil's Jugs have a double seal unlike some of the others.. You can usually tell which of the quality oil companies use a double seal the ones that dont usually have oil all over the shelves.

I never saw Mobil Super 2000

Thanks for the heads up.. I guess that makes sense..
I see that quart says synthetic blend but the jugs i use don't say its a blend but i think it is.

Leaky?Thats just its cleaning ability from previous dino jk. It most likely got too hot and might have caused leak. I had that issue with mobil 7500 10w30 in my 95 Toyota Tacoma. All my jugs 5qt leaked after I opened them too.

Mobil Super HM and Super 2000 HM are the two exact same oils. So, I wouldn't say its metric oil at all. Even the bottles and labels are the same colour.

It is quite possible for MSHM to have the double seal. I had some Vanilla M1 in quart bottles and it had the double seal. Had Mobil ATF +4 in 1L and 5L and it's double sealed.

I wouldn't really say the bottles get hot at all, since I didn't see anything else with leaky sight gauges.

Both of these straight from the PDS.

So .... 2000km (1200 mile) OCI ?

The jugs i just picked up say Mobil Super High Mileage 5w30 with nothing that says 5000 on them (I was wondering about that also) Im pretty sure they are a synthetic blend, they are all filled to the exact same levels and all have a double seal which is one of the reasons we changed to Mobil.. My brother is getting regular Mobil 5000 delivered in the drums to the shop. So far we are happy changing to Mobil.

I have seen other brands of oil leaking from the sight gauge.Must be caused by the manufacturing process to make the sight glass. Valvoline SAE 30W was the last one that leaked. Don't have that problem anymore as I gave the lawnmower away and have grass moved.

Oh shucks.
I thought maybe there was an epidemic of BITOG OCD in Canada and ExxonMobil marketing was right on top of it.

The PDS says its a synthetic blend, did you not see my post above? You may get a double seal but the jugs still leak.

Where are the Mobil jugs leaking from? I did not see any Mobil 5 qt.jugs leaking ever.. Im sure it can happen but compared to an oil company that does not have secure caps it seems to be very rare..

I would agree with car51 with Mobil it may be a mistake in making the jugs with Sopus its almost always the caps they use on the jugs.
