The reverse does happen, but not to extent that it happens on ice and snow. Also, snow tires keep performance at low temperatures in dry while all season start to deteriorate.

I was just referring that if one makes choice among tires in this test, CC2 is smartest choice.
That site you are using does not have many tires tested or reviewed, I checked on Goodyear Truck tires I bought 2 years ago and not 1 review.Then i checked on a Toyo tire I want to purchase for my 1995 Firebird and no reviews. Or live in a south suburb of Houston and run one set year round FTW. Guess I could win the lotto and have matching trucks but one with dry and one with wet tires for raining or not.

It doesn't other than satisfying interest in autos, driving, ti[y]res, weather, road conditions and a few others and providing opportunity to share and discuss opinions and experiences on same. Michigan in January at 7 degrees gives an interesting alternative to mid/south Texas.

I used to remember mentally that in Montreal, in the 1990's, many cars simply kept their snow tires on all year round. It would be interesting to see if anybody uses all weather tires up there. I don't know the answer, but my guess is no. Again, because the trade-off doesn't work in that climate. I could be very wrong because I haven't been up there for at least 6 years now, and I don't think all weather tires were a thing 6 years ago.

I used to get closeout aluminum rims for my snow tires, and one time it was hilarious, I got compliments on the snow tire rims. I haven't shopped for such in 9 years, and I would not be surprised if the costs were through the roof. When I say closeout, it would often lead to an ASA rim that looked nice, and cost sub $100 (ASA often looked like a BBS knock off and high quality at that). Just because the style was discontinued didn't make them unattractive for snow tires in any way. When I say I used to, let's be honest I've only bought 3 new cars in my life, and one used over $10k. So I've only done it 3X lol last time being 2016

I always thought Ontario was different, snow tires were not required by law the way they always have been in Quebec. Not to mention the amount of snowfall.

They aren’t required by law here but I have noticed that a lot more people are getting snow tires or all weather tires in the last ten years or so. And after the winter we just had I bet a lot more people will want better tires for next winter
