1986 D100 slant six 4spd o/d.The most disappointing vehicles I have ever owned. It had to be a monday am or friday afternoon assembled truck, underpowered ,engine comp needed replacing the second week of ownership and that was a foreshadowing of it's life.

Turned me off of purchasing new.I would rather buy older stuff. After a while all of the lemons are in the junkyard.

Is that a special Canadian model?

A Prius c for my daughter a little more than a year ago.

Wasn't planning on buying new, but the price was right.

You really can't generalize about these things. My general strategy is to buy and hold. The one thing I know for sure is that selling wholesale and buying retail, which is what you are doing when you trade in a car, almost guarantees a big cost to you.

Recognize that this is a cost in addition to depreciation costs.

2012, my wife's Scion.

2005 - Hyundai Tucson

2004 - Hyundai Elantra

2003 - Chevy Trailblazer

2002 - Jeep Wrangler

2000 - Dodge Ram 1500

1994 - Chevy S-10 Blazer.

I was kind of stupid in the early 2000's.
I don't want to think of how much money I wasted.

Not sure if I will ever buy new again.

History, since about 1981 had jobs that provided a company car or truck,,smartest thing I ever did getting jobs like that, but the last time me and the wife at that time bought a new Honda Accord in the late 90s,,,that was it for me....had a few used ones and the Lasaber is used and I inherited it,2005...I despise car payments.

Myself never in 30 years of driving.

My wife just bought her third car over her lifespan in May 2018. She only buys brand new. 96 Civic->05 Subaru Legacy->18 VW Tiguan

1977 Dodge cargo van. Customized it with wheels, tires, carpet, stereo, and a bed in back, all the essentials for a 19 year old guy.

First and only brand new, everything since 2-3 years old and I keep them 10-15 years.

06 Ford Ranger XL.. early 06 I think. The only new vehicle I've had and probably the last but the wife hasn't had a new one yet so eventually that's going to happen.

2001 Z28.

The wife's Malibu was titled new as it was a demo. It had 4,200 miles it. It stickered for 35,000 new we paid 24,900 out the door. Buying new hurts me, but I like late model used.
I don't blame anyone for buy new as it nice to have a car that only you have used. Maybe someday I will buy brand new again.

In late 1971 I bought a new 1971 Dodge dart 4D /6 car. Drove it till it rusted out in 1988. About 147000 miles. It was a year end close out, something like $2600. Was cheap transportation at a time when that was all I could afford.
