What’s the largest displacement engine you have ever had? What’s the largest you have now? If you’re planning on something in the future, you can include that as well.

My largest is 4.3 liters, 8 cyl, the Toyota 3UZ-FE.

This covers have now, and ever had.

We have a L87 on order, so when it comes, 6.2 liters and 8 cyl., that will be have now, ever had, and planning on in the future. This beats my dad, who had a 350 4bbl V8 Buick. Back in those days, I wished he could have gotten a 403 instead, or even a 455.

Imho more, and bigger, is better. I guess a big block will be something I never personally attain.

Edit and interesting how the mind works. Apparently, my dad’s car could only have a 350, 400, and not 100% on 455. The olds counterpart could have a 350, 400, 455, and not a 403. A 403 came in 1977. Well, I’m still happy with a 376. 😊

Just a few old ones off the top of mind
7.3L Navistar diesel.
Whatever displacement is on a Ford 460 cubic inch?
5.2L 318 Plymouth (Chrysler/Dodge engine?)

Currently:
I have the 6.0L Navistar in the F-tree fifty. 😄
3.2L I6 in the Volvo

Quickly thinking back, the Ford 429 just over 7L may be the largest I've owned. Currently, the F150 with 5.0 is the largest conventional vehicle engine and my airplane is 360 cubic inches or about 5.8L.

It looked exactly like this picture. Made good power and provided acceptable MPG about 14 or so. Which when you think about it, is the same as my pickup truck.

Although it was rated at some paltry low HP, like 202 or some such nonsense, we knew exactly how to wake them up, and unlike today, it was downright inexpensive to double the HP. Dual free flow exhaust (with headers or not) open air filter, camshaft change and tune. Maybe $150 worth of goodies and near 400HP, 5500RPM was normal.

Which, unsurprisingly, is the same HP as my 2024 F150 with ultra high tech engine. Maybe we've not come far at all.

I've owned a couple 454s in trucks, my current truck is a 6.2L(376) L86. Cars, a number of 305 and 350s, currently 2 350s in the Camaros. I prefer my V8 engines but I've also owned a couple 4 cylinders when I needed something that got good gas mileage for long distance stuff for work.

Largest I have owned was 3x Fords with the 7.5L 460. Great engine, albeit thirsty. On the plus side, they pretty much got 8-10mpg towing or empty 😁 . Current largest is the 3.4L V6 in the Tundra. The other 2 are 2.5L and 1.8L.

I have a one-quarter share in an inherited F350 with a 460 gas engine. :)

I've owned some form of the 3.5L J35 Honda for the last fifteen years or so... Smallest car engine I've owned was a 1.6L Jetta diesel, also the weakest!

I had a 1971 Corvette 454 ci or 7.4 liters for a daily a 1996 Corvette collectors edition with a 5.7 L engine. Don’t have a picture of the 96 but he is the 71.

95 460 f350 was my largest. Largest now is a 2021 gm 6.2 until it might spontaneously self shed some displacement in which case if it goes below 6.0 then my yukon becomes the next largest.
