I currently use a EaO13 on my 07' Nissan Xterra V-6. Can I run a larger EaO and be OK? If I can run the larger EaO, what number would it be? The EaO13 is really tiny, especially sittling next to my Ford truck filter (friggin huge)! It is even small compared to the PureOne's that I used to use. The reason I ask is that Amsoil is having a buy one get one free sale on certain filters until the end of the month but the EaO13 is not one of them. Thanks!

Got room for a EAO44?

How about a larger one for Our 08 corolla that's spec'd for an EAO09?

Is there really a benefit to running a larger filter other than more oil in the sump? And maybe buy 1 get 1 free.

Sorry; looking at the chart i see the EAO10 is slightly longer with all other specs the same. Again though, any benefit in going larger?

Was the PureONE for your Xterra the PL14610? How did you like that filter? Any reason you're switching to Amsoil besides the cost deal?

Compared to the OEM Toyota YZZA2 I used to use, the longer EaO10 is a bit easier to install/remove.

I don't know the # off hand for the PureOne, but its one that does NOT have an anti-drainback valve! I still have one in the box and might use it someday for an auto-rx run. The reason for using the Amsoil filter and oil is that I am doing extended drains.

The premium plus 14610 does have an anti-drainback valve, so I assume the PureOne has it as well.

Also, it's metric, not 3/4-16.

On the PureOne filter box it says that it has a silicon adbv EXCEPT for model #XXXXXXX(can't recall the #) , which is the same number on MY box. Meaning that MY filter does NOT have a adbv. Just looking at my filter I can see it doesn't have one.

Both the P14610 (classic) and PL14610 (PureONE) have an ADBV ... the PureONE ADBV is silicon, the classic P14610 is not.

Yeah, i just took another look under the car last night. Looks like i could use a 12" long filter if i wanted to, as there's plenty of room. No room to go with a wider one though; too small where it attaches to the block.

I think this fall, our corolla's will be getting the EAO10 instead of the teeny EAO09. The EAO10 is what's recomended for the camry 4 cyl.

How much more oil will it allow you to put in? 1/4 if a quart?

Probably not even that much. What it should give you, even if you don't need it, is xx% more filtering media to soak up the stuff that it can filter. It's efficiency should pick up a notch or two in some time weighted average kinda way.

So going with a larger filter CAN actually be a good thing?

Time weighted average kinda way?????

Hey Pablo,

Thanks for posting the link to the filter size chart.

This confirms I can use a larger EAO30 instead of the EAO32.

Maybe. Look around the link below. It's for hydraulics ..but filters are filters.
