I was at the neighbour’s place and noticed this rather large propane tank. Can anyone top it? Ho-Ho-Ho. ( apologies to Tim Allen from Tool Time ).

I know nothing about propane tanks and the like. I think I'd rather have two smaller tanks than a single enormous tank.

That is a biggen! I have 3 100lb tanks and the one in the pic has to be 1000lb. Seems too large for a 500lb.

Most likely a 1000 gallon tank. My parents had one growing up, it was large enough that we only filled it up once a year. Handy when you could pick the cheapest time of year to fill it to the brim

Bigger tanks are sized in gallons not pounds and that would be either a 500 gallon or 1000 gallon tank. Propane weighs about 4 lbs per gallon.

You are correct!! I stated lbs when I should have stated gallons. Mine are 100 gallon tanks not 100lb tanks.

I just have a single 100 gallon tank. All that's connected to it is a gas cooktop and a gas fireplace. I haven't had it refilled since it was installed about 5 years ago!

That is probably a 1K gallon tank, context is missing a measurement reference. If the fence posts are 8 feet apart, that would put the tank at 16ft, which is the size of a 1K

I'd guess a1500 gallon tank. They only fill them to 80%. I have a 500 gal one and it's about a third that.

the tank is about twice as long as my oil tank, but smaller diameter, my oil tank is 5ft diameter and has about 700 gallons capacity. This looks like 4ft diameter? that makes it 1000 gallons (filled to 800 maybe?) to me
