I just watched a news segment on Scripts News on this subject. A commission has just worked out a deal between Arizona and California that will have Arizona helping finance the expansion of desalination in California to reduce California use of water from the Colorado River.
100 years ago river boats could navigate all the way up to Utah and Nevada. Today, the landing at the Yuma Prison is hundreds of feet from the river and non-navigable. California is admitting their over dependence on it.
