I went to Lowe's & handled a Werner (made in Mexico) 60#, 28' extension ladder. It's doable.
At 20' in the air, I would likely die if I fell. A wobbly ladder is not worth the couple bucks saved. That wouldn't pay for the hearse ride to the funeral home.
I won't only be using this for gutters. It's just that is the worst case (height) that I can think of right now. Therefore, that is the performance criteria.
I don't have any problems with storage, but I had not thought of the rental approach. I'll call a few places. Thanks.
