So you really don't always need PEA? Kreen might be older technology but it sure works.

I don't like doing them on a 5.4 even when paid to remove them. No way would i R&R one that wasn't leaking just for a look see.

No one thats ever seen one would expect that from you.

I appreciate it trav. For me the most frustrating part, besides getting the rear bolts linedback up and no cross threading, was dealing with the power steering rreservoir bracket. I never did get the bottom bolt out and ended up just bending the bracket out of the way.

gauge shows code 420&430.
I put 16oz in the engine and 16 oz in the tank.
So far 600 mi and no cel, hope that cured it for good.

We own many GM fleet trucks and have found a bit of Kreen in the fuel quickly cures carbon knock. It will also help with the problematic PCV orifice that usually clogs as the engine ages!

Kreen works. Now.

Sounds like you have had good results with Kreen in the gas. are you using the 16 oz dose in a full tank ?

Actually we run a 33 gallon tank so i have used up to 3 cups at once. I generally run one cup per 10 gallons of fuel as a maintenance dosage but only at 6 month or so intervals.

Thanks for your input on how you use Kreen in the gas. seems like an easy plan to follow.

I have my entire family, my wife's entire family, and a couple people on the Toyota Nation forums have made offers. It's too much hassle, though, having it shipped twice. It's easier for me to bring it back with me on a road trip (and run it the whole time). It doesn't help that I live walking distance from work and in a downtown area, so I really only drive on the weekends, so a road trip might very well be the only way it would have time to work before it evaporated.

Plus, I don't get to say "vicariously" very often.

Reporting back on the kreen treatment.

Too good to be true :-( Please keep us updated. I must have battled this for few years before discovering the anti-fouler.

Sounds like you're very clean internally, then. Fuel system may be a culprit, but P0330 is a knock sensor malfunction. That code only comes up if the ECU can't read that sensor, is the sensor has surely failed. Without being able to read that sensor, the ECU can't tell when timing needs to be adjusted and timing being off can certainly create a condition where too much unburned fuel is reaching the catalytic converter, which would overwhel the converter and throw a P0420. It's possible that cleaning the fuel system with Regane (I'm known to use a bottle or two every year) will solve the P0420, but the P0330 will remain until that sensor is replaced.
