My 91 318i has a startup lifter tick only in the winter. I'm changing oil types and are doing some quickie ocis, so I decided to add a dose of kreen.

First, the can isn't marked. I assume it is a quart?

Trying to pour the contents of the can does nothing but make a mess. Doesn't come out clean and dribbles down the side of the can to whatever is nearby (belt and hose in my case, not good).

What do you use to pour the contents? A funnel will not help. Poor can for the application, IMO.

Pour Kreen first into a large measuring cup then into your engine. Kreen is easy to spill out and will melt some plastics. Use with caution.

The Kreen can is lousy! I carefully poured into a container I use to measure TCW3 which is marked in ounces, mix ratios, etc. It has a lip on it so pouring from it is easy. The can stinks but the product works well.

i just use a funnel carefully. didnt spill too much. youll figure it out. if you have a large funnel it will help. it also helps to pour from the side rather than the front.

but yeah the can sux

Upside down would have been ok, but I thought the can was a quart and I wanted 15oz.

In the end I think I'm ok with 7oz or so. I poured from the side and was so disgusted with the amount on my hand, belt, hose, AC compressor, etc that I stopped... And poured water all over to flush it away.

Maybe I'll add more, maybe not. Engine wasn't dirty, just the winter startup tick. Won't know of success for many months...

I can't stand the can either!!!

C'mon, Kano Labs, it's 2011, this shouldn't be happening.....

come on guys....im no rocket scientist but if i can do it, you can too!!

get a 1qt plastic paint mixing container from home depot, it has volume graduations on the side.

put the lip of the plastic container under the neck of the Kreen can and pour what you need, simple, no mess, no Kreen wasted at all...

the plastic container can then be squeezed iun your hand at the sides to make the "pour width" narrower, into a FUNNEL...always use a funnel!

The can, i guess is the way it is to be strong enough to hold the very volatile contents whilst in shipping?? I always have to use channel locks to get the top loose, and then when im done, I nip it tight in the same way...this stuff will evaporate off some.

Personally, i will say that Kreen kicks all of the other options right outa the ring! Nothing that i have heard of or used works this well.

Reminds me when they changed up the Seafoam and B-12 CHEMTOOL cans with the new "rounded" top......lol. Took some getting used to, even pouring it into the tank, there was no "lip" to catch onto the side of the filler neck or anything to "catch" the possible dribble from the can, the only way to get it in there without spillage is to "shove it" into the neck lol.....and just hope you have a 15-30 gallon capacity

For a product stored in a metal can, I can't say I'd want to put it into a plastic container straight.

If I have problem with dispensing a product stored in a metal can, I would transfer it into a cleaned wide mouth glass jar with a tight lid.

Thanks for heads up. I tried to dispense Kreen to a glass measuring cap and still spilled a considerable amounts of Kreen. Fortunately, this was away from a car and on a concrete floor.

The metal can is very old school and VERY full.

Take an extension out of your tool box or a similar stick like thingy. Put one end where you want the Kreen to go and hold it there. Open the can and place the can opening against the side of the extension and pour slowly. The liquid will run down the extension instead of the side of the can.

Perhaps they should put instructions on the bottom of the can.
