Has anybody ever dealt with Kohler customer service? Our shower faucet recently switched to ice cold only and after some exploratory diagnostics I was able to resume hot water function...100% of the time. It seems to me the valve cartridge is shot. I will be calling them tomorrow but I'm wondering if I need to plan on purchasing my own part or if they are pretty good?

Parents remodeled their kitchen about 5 years ago. They had a Kohler faucet for 30 years that never had issues. Then bought a new one. Mistake. The cartridges are garbage.

The great news is Kohler has been awesome about warranty. They ship new cartridges whenever my dad needs them and, actually, sent him bulk packs because it's cheaper for them than buying him a new faucet! They're easy to replace so that's what he does. Pretty embarrassing for Kohler, I'd think.

I don't know Kohler's warranty. I Pfizer kitchen faucet in my former house, it developed a leak after 10-12 years I contacted them and gave them the model number, they shipped the replacement without asking for any receipt or proof.

I think Kohler is a good company, just contact them and tell them what is wrong with your shower faucet, most likely they will ship a new cartridge.

PS You need the faucet model number.

Just call them but before that try to go on the website and match your faucet. They are very responsive and will send you the new part in the mail.

Hopefully they can have the correct part, sometimes after a company discontinues an item it eventually discontinues replacement parts.

If they don't have the part for the faucet, they will offer to swap your old faucet for you. Just be aware that the new faucet may be shiny but it will be guaranteed to be of cheaper quality and made in NOT-USA.

If they put you on the waiting list for a discontinued part, take that option rather than choosing a brand new shiny faucet.

The phone call was simple and easy. Unfortunately there is a 28 day backorder on my particular part. Bummer, guess we will wait.
