No, I suspect you are right regarding your assumption that it comes from the assembly lube.Does Quaker State have that much moly (740 ppm)?

Ya, that's the $64000 question. How long should the factory oil stay in the engine ?
They said it's a factory oil made to Hyundai kia specs. It can't be bought on the market.Does Quaker State have that much moly (740 ppm)?
I found this older BITOG post which, if it (supposed GM engineer) is to be believed, the differences in factory fill oil can be attributed to assembly lube during manufacturing.I think so, just wow on the moly. Definitely a break in oil IMO. Was probably in long enough to do what it needed to.
KIA used to recommend Total and have it printed in the manuals. I didn't know that changed. Hyundai recommends Quaker State for sure with SOPUS being the factory fill. It's quaker state
They make the factory fill for all kia amd hyundai engines.
A QS told me this when we bought our new santafe.
I had some nerdy oil questions.
You can't even get total in Canada. At least not in my part.KIA used to recommend Total and have it printed in the manuals. I didn't know that changed. Hyundai recommends Quaker State for sure with SOPUS being the factory fill.
