also, on my way to home after work I roll down windows at one of the traffic light on the way back home and another KIA like 2017 next to me and it had enough strange engine sound

So this is the car he mentioned in yesterday’s video that recently had service at a quickie lube. Not sure why the owner wouldn’t take it to the dealer instead. Or contact the quick lube. Not sure how that’s Kia’s fault. But I understand this forum loves to bash H/K.

My guess is the quick lube was quick but didn’t provide the lube.

HUH? Any dirt in the block would be trapped by the oil filter before the first oil change. This happened at 140,000 miles.

Never did hear if it had any oil in it or not-don’t think it would have gone 629 miles without ANY oil! Almost looked like the big end/rod bearing seized, & bent the rod, broke the wrist pin, & snapped off the rod. That’s not easy to do!

The block cleaning excuse is a red herring, there’s some major metallurgy & design issues with these.

This happened at 140,000 miI'm talking about the manufacturing debris left in the oil galleries that loosens up and wipes bearing out. A ton of engines were destroyed by this. Both people i know with these engines had blown up around 100k. One was on a trip 1000 miles from home. At least they were eventually fixed under warranty. Took about two months for the factory replacement to come in though.
