BMW has not closed any factories. They, and all the other German car manufacturers have stopped or are about to cut production by shutting down from 1 day to 4 days per week. The BMW factory in Leipzig that has shut down for four days once.

M-B plans on cutting their workers' work week by 5 hours to 30 hours per week.

Opel, a GM subsidiary, has closed a factory in Poland due to low demand. They want a guarantee of one billion Euros in credit, if their parent company defaults.

I admit I was in the shower and heeard BMW and closing then after getting out a long piece on Opel and some lady talking abouta billion Euro's required. I try to listen to Deutsche Wella every day it's good quality reporting.
