This is the old silver model before the e-core. Its a very good filter, not sure what the new ones are like. This has 5K miles on it which were fairly sedate miles waiting for my new tune. Oil was 5w-50 Nulon Racing. This is the best design ADBV I have seen on any filter so far, it is so pliable and still feels brand new quality. My motor is known to chew them out and this hasn't got one mark on it. Thick base plate, I have put another one on with some Nulon 15w-50. I will be changing to the fram racing filter next which I'm pretty sure has a better micron rating than these with high flow as well.

Haha, yea its called a barra after the barramundi fish in Australia. They had to re-design the ADBV because they were chewing through ADBV back in the early to mid 2000's. I think they just went to a silicone ADBV which was newish back then. Ford Australia had Motorcraft make them in Thailand. They are decent filters but not very efficient. 15,000km OCI on semi-syn from dealerships wouldn't of helped. Mine is a Ford BF XR6 Turbo falcon or a turbo barra in Australia

I bought these on clearance from Rock Auto last year for a crazy price. I can't remember but I think they were about $2 each, so I bought a dozen. Cut one open to look for myself. I wish I didn't waste a new filter! They appear to be very well built. The can itself feel a little thin, but otherwise there is nothing to complain about.
