Hey Guys,

Just got K&N oil filter looks like anti drain is slightly off center I looked at couple boxes same problem ...

Should I use that Filter ?

Or should I put OEM mazda and return this

Is your filter bottom up, down or horizontal?

I would also contact K&N directly as they would want to know if there is a quality control issue.

If it's bottom up then it would be fine to use IMO. But you want to contact K&N to make them aware.

I did this with a bad K&N filter and for my troubles they sent me 5 of them in the mail for FREE!

Maybe you can do the same...

I don't think filter position matters for the ADBV function. If there is a volume of filtered oil up inside of the engine when it is shut off, gravity will try to pull that oil back down. It will attempt to flow backwards through the large (outlet) hole of the filter, then through the media, and up through the inlet holes. This will put pressure on the ADBV, helping it to seal.
