Good Afternoon Board,

Thought I would post the photos.

1. 2001 Honda Valkyrie
2. Miles on oil filter 2,292
3. In service 17 months
4. Can thickness .027"
5. Pressure valve working, unknown on the pressure it opens.
6. Anti-Drain Valve, Black, pliable, but somewhat thin.
7. As I was cutting open the filter, I used the nut to move the filter around the cutting blade, and I have to admit I gave it a beating and it took it, no damage to the welds at all. In my opinion, and I know they say you can't use the nut to install the filter, but there is no doubt in my mind that if you used the nut for the extra 1/2 to 3/4 turn after the filter touches the base, it would handle it. With that said, I'm no mechanic, so each person has to make that decision for themselves.
8. Filtering media nice and straight, appears to have a lot of it.
9. Holes, not louvers - I APPRECIATE THAT. HATE LOUVERS.
9. This filter is built like a tank, the can is thick, it took a number of turns to cut this open.

I wish K&N would simply be more forthcoming with the filtering capabilities of the media, but the build quality of this product is really excellent.

Is this K&N made by HiFlo? Looks pretty close to the HiFlo in your other thread.
They are almost identical, the only difference I can see is in the anti-drain back valve, the HiFlo was a little thicker than the K&N on my Valk. The can thickness the same, media looks the same, core with holes the same, and I’ll say it again, the nut was beautifully welded and strong.

I suspect K&N went back to HiFlo to build their motorcycle filters.
