K&N HP-7038 oil filter failed at end cap

It doesn't even look like the glue held from the factory. I am guessing oil pressure did it?

No lights or anything else during the VW's 10K service interval(albeit 11k this time). Obviously wasn't like this when installed.

I also sent this to K&N as well.

Euro manufacturers generally use very good filters. Stick to MANN, Mahle or Hengst if not using OE.
I have never seen distorted cartridge from those manufacturers and I track car on those filters.
I once bought K&N oil filter for BMW becasue I was chasing some sound when I installed oil cooler, thinking it is filter as that sometimes can happen on N52 engines. I wanted to install it and the hole was too big for cage on oil cap. The filter was sitting loose.
IMO, junk of epic proportions considering the price and image perception.
 
K&N don't care....junk merchants...
They ignored my return requests and deleted my reviews...

I tend to but I got this on the oil change specials last time at AAP/AZ so I said why not. OPPS!
