Regretfully I don't know the mileage, but it's been on my wife's 1992 Mercury Capri for over a year. The oil change sticker went away with the broken windshield. It's been a very trying ordeal getting a windshield back in the car, but my glass guy came through for me on Christmas Eve. So today I changed the oil and filter so the wife can start enjoying her little stick shift convertible again. I upsized the filter from this HP-1008 to an HP-1010 (PH7317 size).

Out was Valvoline Maxlife Synthetic 5w-30 and this filter, in was same oil and HP-1010. Enjoy.

Donald; She likes weird stuff. She had a Saab Sonnet, sold it, and bought this. We were actually looking for a cheap Miata when we found this, and the fact that it has a tiny back seat made her want it over a Miata. Plus we only paid $1,000 for it, it would be very difficult to find a drivable Miata for that amount. So to answer your question, yes, she picked it out. And I was ok with it because it's still a "Ford" product, sort of. (Mazda drivetrain).

That Sonnet was a pain in the you-know-what every step of the way. Horrible to work on.

I actually used the nut for removal on this car. The filter is on the back side of the engine, under the intake manifold. 1/2" ratchet, 6 inch extension and 1" socket is way easier than an oil filter wrench on this car.

If only it didn't make me wake up in a cold sweat thinking about working on it or sourcing parts! I handmade a trunk floor for it with a bead roller and stitch welded it in. And had to have the fuel tank acid dipped and a new bottom soldered in. Just to make it drivable. Then the brake lines started popping. The fuel and brake lines are inside the car, under the carpet. This nets you brake fluid soaked carpet.

It was funny when people tried to guess what it was or thought they knew. It's been called...
-Corvette
-Bricklin
-DeLorean
-all variations of Datsun Z car

But yes. It was pretty cool. Thanks!

Nice looking filter. Does anyone know what is the efficiency of this filter @ 20 microns?

(My opinion) It was designed originally for improved flow in race cars. Not built like a Fram Ultra.

I do believe it's hypothetical half-sister (Mobil-1) has a bit-different, more trap-driven media.
