Due my schedule and it being cold out (in NY) I let my oil change drift to just under 10K. The old oil was castrol Edge with a Amsoil Ea filter and the new oil is PP with same filter (filter was replaced but still a Amsoil Ea.)

Does anyone think I let it go too long. Vehicle is a 2001 Jeep
with 6, and it takes 6 Qts of oil. Towards the end I was in a hurry and added 1 Qt of Carquest synthetic oil as the engine was low and I had no time to go find some Castrol Edge.

I like that the engine uses 6 Qts. Well I do not like paying for 6 Qts, but feel the engine is better served with 6 Qts.

As you're probably aware, Castrol EDGE is guaranteed for extended drain intervals up to 15,000 miles or one year. Matched with the Amsoil filter you used, 10,000 miles should be fine unless you submitted your vehicle to "severe" conditions such as frequent towing or something like that. If you're really wondering, send a sample of what you drained to Blackstone for an oil analysis.

Severe conditions like short trips in sub freezing weather! If you let it go too long its too late now to worry

I just changed mine 10,200 07 escape it had some ASM with some old 0-30 pre SSO, filled with the same thing no worries here.

Provided it wasn't just used for short trips over the winter, 10k should be fine with an EaO in theory. Having a 6 quart sump probably helps.
