So this is a dead thread but since I still get email notifications for replies to it for some reason I'll answer everybody at once.
1) Yes, it is possible to change the transfer case fluid and I did that around 90K. I also changed the rear diff fluid at the same time.
2) I did change the CVT fluid that soon, at 110K, and soon following that I had to have the transfer case and rear end replaced under warranty back in July. Refer to this topic on that: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/t...g-from-rear-end-area-what-could-it-be.370594/
(And in november I also had the CVT replaced under warranty. It had judder codes already back in July when everything else got done).
3) I have heard stories before where Nissan dealerships send fluid samples to Blackstone labs or similar facilities upon a CVT failure and if they determine that the fluid was changed by the owner with non NS-3 OEM fluid then the warranty claim gets denied.
